Welcome to the water cooler. This is the place to post questions and answer them for each other other. Just like you might chat with colleagues over a physical "water cooler" (or coffee machine!), you can now chat with colleagues in this virtual space. Ask questions about current issues in the library, give opinions on those issues, recommend resources on those issues. If you need advice, or input or inspiration, here's the place to ask for it!
If the topic gets large enough, we'll move it to it's own page.
I need info or a presenter that might be able to do a legislative update once the legislative session is over! Any suggestions?? - Sherry
Gloria Meraz comes to mind...if distance is a problem, could she present via a video conference or phone conference?--Kim
What brings librarians to your ESC in droves? I keep searching. Sandra
...famous authors, Teri Lesesne, Jim Trelease, or other people who do booktalks, copyright workshops, workshops on library support for core subject areas, tech topics, such as digital storytelling, etc...Maria Elena
I've had to cancel speakers such as Aileen Kirkham because of nonparticipation. I've offered digital storytelling, Flip Video, PhotoMagic (my version of PhotoStory), and High Tech Library (web 2.0) and cancelled most because of low enrollment (2 and they weren't librarians!). I have a session Tuesday (Academic Achievement: Teaching Math and Science with Books) and only have 4 out of 30 who are librarians. The others are teachers. I am going to try again as I might have offered these before folks were ready. However only 2 have signed up for Book Trailers for August. Keep the suggestions coming though --- Sandra
It could be that the librarians attend the sesssions at Region One because the sessions are either free or at a much reduced rate. Staff development comes with Co-op membership. Maria Elena
